I know, it's been a while. I keep thinking I should blog. And I have a bit, over at the Off Shore In Ecuador blog that I share with Nani. But those blogs are really about our Ecuadorian experience. And this blog was supposed to be for anything else. And every time that I think that I might have something I feel like blogging about, I don't bother. So, apparently, I didn't really want to blog about it after all.

I am not sure that what I am about to blog about is "blog-worthy" or not. But, here I am so let's see....

The question on my mind is this. Do we (the 6 billion plus of us that live on the planet), deep down inside, really believe in love or not? It is a fundamental question in my mind. Because if we don't, well, we're f&$^ed. But if we do....

Even if 50.000001% of us really do, deep down under all the bullshit, then we're tipping the scale, right? I mean, we're "winning". And if we're winning doesn't that mean that all that is wrong with the world, and we all see it, is slowly on it's way out? In other words - we will have the world that we all want. One with pure love. No more games - just raw truth.

And if that world is coming shouldn't that make us smile just a little bit more each day? And, when we smile those near us will see it and a few of them will feel a nice warm feeling inside. And they smile. And then maybe there are 50.000002% of us. And this will in turn make a few more people smile, and a few more believe again. The entire thing accelerates faster & faster, gaining speed until it hits infinity - and at that very moment we have consciously, intentionally, created the future we want.

And all we did was just smile a little bit more.

I just watched a BBC news story on voter fraud (it’s a little over 6 minutes long).

http://www.brasschecktv.com/page/447.html

The time is fast approaching where we need to decide what kind of people we really are. Are we going to practice what we preach? Or are we all just a bunch of posers. You’d have to be a complete idiot not to see the hypocrisy of it all.

The phrase "trickle down economics" on the surface sort of made sense to me. If the 1% are spending money to have their pets groomed then the pet groomer can go out to dinner and pay the baby sitter, and the baby sitter has more money for weed, and then the local pot dealer can place a larger order with his supplier, who can then afford to send his under-sized poodle, Mimi, the one with the yip-yip bark, sent to the pet groomer. Everybody wins. Right?

Wrong. The basic problem with trickle down economics is that there are too many greedy hands in the way. There is nothing left to trickle by the time it gets to those who at the bottom of the food chain. If you want to build a sustainable economy you need to build it from the ground up. You probably also have to have a monetary system that is based on something real, but that's another story.

I just got back from a trip to Barnes & Noble. I love books. Just the idea of a book to me is really cool. When you look at a book you're looking at a bunch of knowledge. Even if it's a novel there is the knowledge of the adventure inside. Thousands of hours of ideas, creativity, work, concepts, and knowledge all smashed in to a few hundred pages. And all you have to do is pick it up and read it for that knowledge to be yours (that's the hard part, actually reading the book).

There's too much information floating around in a book store for my pea brain to digest. Rows and rows of books shelves with book after book. All these titles and pictures flying at me from everywhere. I always walk out in a daze. I think I try to consume too much while I'm there. I don't want to miss anything, constantly scanning, logging, digesting...

Maybe someday we'll be able to download a book in a few seconds like in the Matrix. I'm not sure I'd feel the same way about a book then. Maybe part of the reason it's so appealing to me is the fact that there is an overwhelming amount of information out there. It is grand because of it's pure volume.

But if that where true I'd have the same feelings about idiots. Which I don't.
I thought it was about time for me to check out this blogging stuff. Been reading about it in the news for a while. Decided to do a little homework and found myself getting totally engaged in other people's blogs. Blogs about this and that. Very intriging. So, here I am.
